The Government has now decided for Family Pension DCPS/ NPS ( कुटुंब निवृत्ती वेतन योजना) that an employee appointed in Government service on or after 1st November, 2005 and covered by a defined contribution pension scheme or the National Pension Scheme.

Government Decision:
1. Family pension and death gratuity to his family in case of death while in service
2. Sickness pension and service product are being applied to the sick retired employee.
Accordingly, family pension or sickness pension will be applicable to the said family pensioner and sickness pensioner as per the provisions of Maharashtra Civil Service Pension Rules, 1982.
3. Also, service gratuity is being applied to employees retiring from government service.
For the purpose of service gratuity and death gratuity awarded as per above decision, the existing provisions of Maharashtra Civil Service Pension Rules, 1982 shall continue to apply.
The families of the employees who died between November 1, 2005 and the date of this decision have to submit the option in Form-3 attached to the said Government decision to the Head of Office to get death gratuity, arrears of family pension and regular family pension. Accordingly, the benefit of family pension will continue to be admissible to the family pensioner on the condition of adjusting the amount of grace subsidy received by him and the amount of government contribution under defined pension scheme/ national pension system with interest/ dividend. If the said amount is adjusted, then the family pensioner will continue to be admissible as family pension on a regular basis.
